Staff at CLC Chico
Pastor Fred and Dale Wymore
God called Pastor Fred into full time ministry when he was a senior at Azusa Pacific University, where he was studying to be a High School Band Director. He went to Vancouver, British Columbia to serve as Youth and Music Director. There, he met Dale and the two were soon married. The new couple accepted a pastorate in San Luis Obispo, where they stayed for five years. In 1982, the growing family moved to Chico to join Christian Life Center. They have three grown children and one grandchild.
Youth Pastors Phillip and Kelly Hernandez
Phillip and Kelly Hernandez have been with Christian Life Center for six years. Kelly's background is in marriage and family counseling and Phillip's background is in dependency treatment, or alcohol and drug counseling. The mission of the CLC youth is to know Christ in a heart-to-heart relationship, and to believe that Christ is the fullness of deity and that His mission on the cross was to set us free from bondages. The Hernandezes are committed to imparting Christ's love, so that our youth today may walk victoriously, and by the Word of God, lead the next generation. Phillip and Kelly are a blended family with six children, ages 11-19.
Children's Ministry Director Alysa Maddox
Alysa graduated from Butte College's Nursing Program in 1987 and married her husband, Tim in 1988. She worked at Enloe Hospital until she left the nursing field to work with Tim in 1997. They have three children: Carissa, Jacquelyn and Brandon. The family has been attending Christian Life Center since 2002, after being invited to the church by some friends.
Alysa first volunteered as a Sunday School teach because her kids were in the classes, but she soon fell in love with all of the kids there. She was offered the Children's Ministry Director position in 2005 and gladly accepted because she knew it was a blessing from God and that it was where she belonged.
Office Manager Phyllis Duarte
Phyllis retired from CSU, Chico in 2002 and shortly after joined Christian Life Center as the Office Manager. Hers is the face you see and the voice you hear at the Christian Life Center office. She designs the weekly bulletin, updates the church address book, and joyfully handles tons of other tasks that make the church function.
Phyllis and her husband, Leonard recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They have 6 grown children who are all married and serving the Lord, and 16 grandchildren.
